Lil Wayne commented that artificial intelligence cannot imitate him: ‘me and my music are unique’

In a Wednesday interview with Billboard, Lil Wayne dismissed the idea that artificial intelligence might take his job.

In an interview celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, the 40-year-old rapper stated he did not anticipate being replaced by artificial intelligence in the near future.

The performer started off by saying that a friend had originally brought up the notion of recording his voice for the future. The performer had recently talked about forgetting his songs due to terrible memory.

“I was recently asked about that.” Furthermore, they claimed that AI could create a voice that was identical to mine. However, since I’m so great, it’s not me,” he said.

Lil Wayne, real nаme Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., has also questioned artificial intelligence’s musical aptitude.

“I wonder if this AI thing is going to be equally amazing?” Because I am amazing in my natural, organic state. “I’m unique,” he declared.

“Actually, I would love to see that thing try to duplicate this motherf***er,” the rapper from Right Above It then said.

Lil Wayne continued his speech by discussing if the rise of artificial intelligence had an impact on the usefulness of mixtapes.

That’s all—the definition or terminology has changed. Mixtapes can now refer to anything, including an album mix. But everyone knows how I handle mixtapes when it comes to Lil Wayne. I won’t ever change my mixtapes,’ he declared.

The rapper also talked on the possible direction that hip-hop could take as an art form.

What I’m witnessing right now is the art and the supreme artist’s limitless potential…I think that’s the direction the genre is going: performers who can do it all, from singing to expressing a range of emotions,’ he said.

The album Lil Wayne published the most recently, Funeral, was first available in January 2020.

The record, which included 24 tracks, became commercially successful right once and peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Critics also gave Funeral a generally positive review; as of right now, Metacritic has given the album a score of 62.

In October of 2021, Lil Wayne and Rich The Kid released a joint mixtape named Trust Fund Babies.

This past March, the performer released I Am Music, his first greatest hits CD.

The album reached its greatest position on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at number nine, while it peaked at number 25 on the US Billboard 200.
